TECHNICAL JUST FAIL

The match between. Hospital and Technical Old Boys at Porirua last Saturday, in which Hospital were tho winners by 7 goals to 6, proved the severity of the handicap under which a team labours when it has to face the sun on,that ground. Tho result could easily have been reversed had Hospital iiot won the ' toss and so played with the suii behind them in the first'lialf. Thrills and goals in plenty filled the game, which especially in tho second half was most exciting, and the uphill fight of Technical was worthy of a better rosult. Brilliant short passing and positional play by Hospital in the first spell'was imitated by Technical in the second. Ell, in goal for Hospital, could not be blamed for letting six past him. In fact, he played remarkably, well to keep tho score to that number. Ogg, the Technical goalie, was sun-blinded when-'the second and fourth goals were scored against him. Ho made a few good saves, but was off form on tho day. Miles and Thompson did not play at. all well at full-back for Hospital. There was a big gap between them, and the Technical forwards found it in the second spell. All six goals were through that hole. Apart from tho misunderstanding between the backs and goalie when Hospital scored their sixth goal, the Technical backs were good, especially in the •first spell." • Of the half-backs, Beadle and.Trewick were the.best, playing vary much alike. • ' . Marshall and Jeffrey; were the pick of

,the Hospital vanguard, with the hen* ours to Marshall. Both ; these player* scored very spectacular; foals. ' ' ■ The Technical forwarda played remarkably well all the second spell, and it was hard to discriminate between them., -All their goals were'the results of combined play, and were well earned. Not one of the thirteen goals scored were soft ones 4 ' •,■'•■
