FAMOUS JUDGE DIES
The death occurred recently in. New York of Charles F. Mathison, :6ne of the best-known international figures in boxing. Mathison, who was 72 years old, was a famous ringside judge, and considered the dean of American boxing writers. The foremost Ariicriean authority ou pugilism, he was the last of the experts who saw the famous John L.' Sullivan in all his bare knuckle battles as • well as title fights under tho Marquis of Queensberry rules.
