(Special to the "Evening Post.") ' ; '.■■ ■ .MASTERTON, This Day. At a meeting.of teachers at School House last . night a local branch of the New Zealand Federation of Teachers Was formed. Mr. H. B. Tomlinsori was elected president, Messrs. O. H. E. Yates and J. H. Fieldhouse vice-presidents, and Mr. J. H. Conly secretary. It is hoped to hold a series of meetings to which outside- speakers will be invited. At the inaugural meeting last night the sneaker was Professor W. 11. Gould, who dealt with intermediate schools. Tho following motion was carried unanimously:—"That this meeting, while not expressing any opinion as to tho best type of intermediate .school, strongly urges tlie Minister not to stultify tho scheme by failure to provide adequate staffing and equipment."
Arrangements for a canvass for funds towards the, cost of buildings to bo erected on the motor camp at Mawley Park were mado at a meeting of tho motor camping committee at Mastcrton yesterday. Dr. Archer Hosking and Messrs. E. M. Hodder and H. M. Boddington were appointed to wait on the Trust Lands Trust at its next mooting to seek financial assistance, and others are to solicit donations of building material.
