A PACKET OF SANDWICHES •
(Received August 5, 2 p.m.) BERLIN, August 4. With a packet of sandwiches and a bottle of water, Kurt Schmitt, a student at Konigsbcrg, anticipating a short flight, started in 'a motorloss glider from Korschenruho at 7.30 o 'clock on Thursday morning. He broke the German record at 2 a.m. on Friday, and the world's record at 6 a.m. He landed at 8.30 o'clock on Friday night.
