ALPINE MOTOR TRIALS
BRITISH ENTRANTS DO WELU
(British Official Wireless.) ■ RUGBY, August 3. Four Of the seven competitors "who Lave so far lost no marks in tho international motor-car alpino trial, -which began on Monday, are British entrants, namely, two Rileys, one M.G.M., one Fraser Nash. The' Riley is leading in the 12 horse-power class, and M.G. Magnus in the 9 horse-power class. One hundred and one cars are still left in tho trial, in which there were 121 starters. The leading position for the women'• prize is at present held by Miss Champney, driving a Eiley, her only competitor whoso chances are considered good being Mrs. Gough, in a Singer. Today's test is on the road from Turin to Grenoble, and includes passage over Galadicr, which is considered the most difficult of mountain passes encountered in the whole- trial.
