AUSTRALIAN FRUIT
NEW ZEALAND EMBARGO
RUMOUR OF LIFTING
SYDNEY, July 27.
Fruit growers here have been given to understand that there is a possibility of the New Zealand embargo against Australian citrus fruits being partly lifted.
Australian shippers, however, are rapidly clearing- the whole of their fr,uit for the United Kingdom under the Government's subsidised plan, and the loss of the New Zealand market is not severely felt.
Choice oranges and lemons are selling in Sydney and Melbourne at 4s to 10s a case.
