CARNIVAL PLANS
Plans for the confidence carnival to bo held in Wellington at the end of November next were considered at a meeting of the committee yesterday afternoon, over which. Mr. G. G. Stewart presided. Tentative arrangements for church services on the opening day of the carnival, Sunday, November 19, were reported upon by the Rev. F. H. Wilkinson. These include a. programme of choral church services, with a procession of children in the afternoon, with combined singing and addresses at the Basin Reserve. At night a choir celebration will be held at the Town Hall, when it is suggested that an oratorio or an individual choirs' performance will be given.
Various further committees were set up to' further interest in the carnival, and the business executive will report to the management committee which meets again on Monday next.
On a cliavge of being drunk and disorderly in liiddiford Park, Lower Hutt. yesterday. Henry Lnngston Day was fined 10s by Mr. G. A. Chapman, J.P., at the Lower Hutt Court this morning.
