NEW BANK PREMISES
Tenders have been called for the construction of a new building for tho Bank of Now Zealand at tho corner of Emerson and Hastings Streets, Napier, at a cost of approximately £14,000.
The plans prepared by Messrs. Crichton, McKay, and Haugliton, Wellington architects, discloso a most harmonious disposition, of colours and mural effects in Queensland maple and marble dadoes, and at night the exterior of this single-storeyed, building will bo flooded with light. In common with modern practice tho roof will be flat, so as to permit of relaxation for officers in luncheon and other hours.
Mr. A. M. Samuel, M.P. for Thames, was the chief guest at the luncheon yesterday marking the conclusion of the annual conference of veterinary surgeons. Mr. H. S. S. Kyle, M.P. for Biccartoii, presided.
