REVIVAL IN IRAK
(Received July 27, 10 a.m.) CALCUTTA, July 26.
Tho first year of Irak's independence has been marked by a revival of the old spectacle of tho public execution with the hope of stemming the flood of violent murder from which tho community is suffering. The deterrent effect is doubtful, however, as thousands flock daily to watch the hangings and appear in no way to be horrified.
