FAILURE TO AGREE
AN AWARD TO LAPSE
(By Telegraph.-'Pres. Association.) CHKISTCHURCH, July 26. Because the General Labourers' Union would not agree to accept Is 6d an hour as a minimum wage for the section known as "all other workers" in the concrete pipe-making industry, the industry will be without an award from September 0. A dispute between the union and the Hume Pipe Company, Ltd., was heard in Conciliation Council tins morning, but the assessors failed to reach a settlement on this point, though agreement was readied on most of the other clauses.
