ISSUE OF BOOTS
The unemployment bureau in Buckle Street is now prepared to issue boots to men holding work orders from Nos. 0050 to 9150. Hitherto, on an average it has been possible to issue 150 pairs weekly. The hold-up has been on account of the large district of which Wellington is the wholesale centre. It reaches as far north as Taumarunui and Gisborne, and also supplies JJarlboi-oußh and Nelson, issuing retail supplies to 100 certifying officers. Now that the initial shortage is overcome it is hoped to keep up to the local issue of sortie 400 pairs a week.
