ESPERANTO CLUB.
The weekly meeting of the Wellington Esperanto Clnb was held last night in the V.M.C.A. iff. Bertram Potts presided. Tuition classes were organised under the direction of competent teachers, and satisfactory progress reported. It was pointed out that the sixteen rules of Esperanto— without exception—greatly facilitated the acquirement of the language, thereby introducing the students at an early period to the literature of the language. In the second portion of the cveuiaff conversation groups were arranged, the junior class being under the care of Mr. Vernon Leek, vice-president. Short extempore talks in Esperanto were given in the senior class as follows: —Mrs. J. F. Corrick. "Vizito Transmara"; Miss Coralie Smythson, "Procesio"; Miss M. Leek, "Baletdancado"; Mr. W. IT. Toolej', a visitor from Christchurch, 'Epizodo en Suda Hotclo." An enjoyable evening closed with an Esperanto sing-song.
A senior Rnnby player who was ordered off the field on Saturday was suspended for three playing Saturdays at last night's meetinjr of the management committee1 of the Wellington Union.
