SHEEP PRICES ADVANCE

STORES IN DEMAND

Abraham and Williams, Ltd., Feilding, report:—We submitted, a heavy yarding of sheep in all sections and have to report a most successful sale, prices appreciating all round. " The demand for good four and five-year ewes and wether lambs was very strong indeed, and in this section we report a total clearance under the hammer. Cattle came forward in fair numbers, and in this section also we report quite a buoyant sale, practically everything submitted being sold at auction. Fat cattle.—Fat cows, 30s, 32s Cd, £2, to £2 7s Gd; store cattle, 3%-year Polled Angus steers, £3 2s (id, £4 Is, to £4 14s; Jersey weaner heifers, good, £2; medium sorts, £1 7s, £1 10s, £1 14s, £1 15s Gd, to £1 18s Gd; dairy cattle, heifers r.w.b., £2 7s 6d, £2 12s Gd, £4, £4 os, to £4 7s 6d. A line of heifers r.w.b. realised £4 ss. Springing cows, £3, £.3 ss, £3 10s, £5, to £G las. The New Zealand Farmers' Co-op., Distributing Co., Ltd., report on the Feilding sale: —A heavy yarding of all classes met with the most animated sale of the season. Fat lambs opened strongly and prices improved as the sale progressed. Mr. A. Johnston, of Alarton, topped the market with a pen of Suffolk lambs at 26s Od, muny other lots selling at from 22s to 2b's. Fat ewes and wethers were on a par with last week's rates. Ewes in lamb were keenly competed for, a nice line of- two-tooths r.w. Southdown rams sold on account of Mr. A. M. Henson, topping this section, making 23s 3d.
