TOUR OF DOMINION

NOT THIS SEASON

A meeting of the Xew Zealand Football Association was held last evening, Mr. F. Campbell presiding. The question of a tour of New Zealand this year by an Australian team was introduced by the chairman. He stated that he personally did not think the times were too unfavourable to run. a tour. It was a matter which required careful consideration, and if it was held over till next year Australia might not be able to send representatives then. Mr. B. L. Salmon stated that the estimated cost of conducting a tour, of six weeks in the Dominion would be nearly £3500. This sum included allowances of £2 5s per week to each of sixteen men. It was decided to abandon the tour for this year. The chairman stated that he Considered a shorter tour than six weeks would be better ii the Australians are to come across'next season.
