CAMP SITES PROVIDED
The annual report of the Southland Motor Association mentions that the Milford, Sound Eoad, via the Eglinton Valley, is each year becoming . more popular among motorists. Opportunity
is again taken r of giving a word-of warning to visitors to the Eglinton Valley concerning the danger of lighting fires too near the native bush. The Department controlling the locality has power to press for a heavy penalty on anyone found offending in this respect. "It would indeed be an unfortunate happening if a bush fire occurred to mar the beautiful scenery of the Eglinton Valley. The association has arranged camping facilities at the 40----mile peg (Knob's Flat), at the flat at the 43-mile peg, and a main area at the 48-mile peg (Cascade Flat), at the lower end of Lake Gunn.
