DISARMAMENT

THE FRENCH THESIS

CONTROL AND SECURITY

DALADIER IMMOVABLE

United Press Association—By Electrlo Tel«graph—Copyright. LONDON, June 9. The "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent at Paris, giving a purely French view of the private disarmament talk in Paris between representatives of Great Britain, France, and America says that M. Daladier insisted that the rejection of any scheme of mutual assistance between European Powers made it nlore essential that France demanded automatic effective international control of armaments. M. Daladier declared that three or four years' probationary period must precede any serious reduction of French armaments. The British and American Governments must be prepared to declare what steps they would take in the event of the violation of any convention negotiated.' The British and American statesmen did not succeed in moving M. Daladier from this position. The "Mornng Post's" Paris correspondent says that M. Daladier proposed disarmament by Budget control, and suggested a pact ensuring international action against any member violating the convention.
