In the quarter-final of tho European zone of the Davis Cup, played at Eastbourne, Perry (England) defeated Mdrpurgo (Italy), 6-4/ 7 : u, 0-4; Austin (England) defeated Stefaui (Italy), 6-2, 7-y, 7-5. At Prague, also in the European quarter-final, Czechoslovakia eliminated Greece.
