CLUB'S ACTION ENDORSED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUBCH, This Day. An inquiry into the running of Koher wah at tho Hawera , Trotting Club's Meeting engaged the attention of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association on Saturday. The Hawera Club reported that its Judicial Committee had held an inquiry into tho running of Kohewah in the Manaia Handicap at Easter compared with her running in the Matapu Handicap. In tho Matapu Handicap she ran third in 3miri 46 4-osec, and later won over the same distance in 3min 33 2-ssec. In evidence the driver (A. W. Broughton) stated •that «th& mare had Bcver trotted well when anything.had. been in front of her. He gave details of betting on tho marc. Tha owner (Wilfred Johnstone) said that Kohewah was. not a good one. She Was fast, but unreliable. He was satis-.; fled with the rway that Broughton .liadj driven her. The club had decided to"; take no action. ■. Tho club's action waa endorsed by theboard. -■
