The men turned up on the job this morning, and were informed that the conditions fixed .were being adhered to. They ie&msH to accept, and marched to tfie- ifftrn. Two representatives then waited on Mr. Bobbins, chairman of the 'Unemployment Committee, and stated that the men refused to -work under the terms offered, but agreed to do the work provided the wages were not less than 10s per day. The matter was placed before the Public Works Department and the local certifying officer of the Unemployment Committee, and the latter telegraphed the information to the Unemployment Board at' Wellington.
