FEILDING STOCK SALE

Excellent rains, a .small yarding, and the fact that tomorrow is a holiday affected the operations of exporters and combined to cause a fall in; the prices of fat sheep at the weekly stock sale. Only a medium yarding of fair quality was offered. Primest fat lambs brought 14s (a drop;of ls;6d); good quality, 11s 7d to 12s 9ds medium, 9s to 10s 9d; prime heavy ewes, ,10s; good, 8s 2d to 9s; fair, 6s to 8s 2d; prime wethers, 14s > Od; good', 11s 6d to 12s; maiden ewes, 10s 3d. A light yarding of store sheep was offered. The demand for breeding ewes is well satisfied and few lines were offered.. Four 5-year ewes,,r.w. Southdown rams;- 7s 9d; :5-y'ear'ditto, 7s 7d; 2-tooth ditto, 13s 7d; ewe lambs, 7s 3d; empty ewes, 4s 8d; culls, 2s 7d to 3s 8d; wether lambs, 5s to 7s. 2d; m.s. lambs, Bs. A small offering of dairy cattle of fair quality met a rather lifeless market. Springingl cows, good line, £5 12s Gd; fair, £2 15s to £3 10s; backward, £1"10s to £2;. heifers, r.w.b.,.g00d, £4 ss; others, £3 to £3 17s 6d; heifers ill milk, £2 7s 6d; July-August calvers, £1 10s to £3. The store cattle market held to a fairly good range of prices. Store cows made 31s for good sorts; others from 14s to 225; weaner heifers, good, 295; fair, from 14s to 16s '6d upward; yearling steers, 15s; empty heifers, 19s; steers, 30s; Hereford steers; good, £2 11s to £3; fair from 325; P.A.. steers, ,£2 11s to £3 15s; P.A. and Hereford steers; £2 5s to £3 14s; Shorthorn cows and heifers, 30s. A small yarding of medium quality fat cattle saw prices generally easier. Good P.A. bullocks made £5 7s; P.A. heifers, £3*ss to £3 12s 6d; Shorthorn heifers, £2 10s to £3 6s; light heifers, 29s to £$■ 15s; heavy cows, £3 12s (id; P.A. cows, 395; light cows, 25s to £2; vealers, 24s to 2fls; light steers, £2 7s 6d.
