PARTY ON THE MONTEREY (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Insured for £5000 for the trip-from Sydney to America, and travelling do luxe, Winooka, Australia's champion racehorse over sprint distances, is on ,tho Monterey, which arrived today, in, company with Trevallion. Mr. McDonald, part-owner of Winooka, said : there was no definite plan, bat on reaching America they would issue a challenge to race any* horse on tho Pacific Slope over six furlongs. Later they would go to Kentucky itml Floridii, then to Chicago iitid New York. Tho trainer, M. Poison, said'- he
thought that Winooka was more- bril-j liant than Gloaming, Phar Lap, and Beauford over six or seven furlongs, j Those with the horse are Messrs. A. J. Matthews and \V. A. McDonald, the owners, E. Britt, the jockey, who is 19. years of age, and Mr. Bufe Taylor, who is taking with' him Austin Bobertson, Australia's fastest human sprinter, to; America for contests from 100 to 300 yards.
