The scheme for tho improvement of wool ana sheep in tho North Island,! inaugurated at a conference in Palmorston North oa Friday, was advanced a step when it was announced today that the provisional committee which was set up last week had made recommendations which are to be placed before a public meeting in Wellington on June 22. . The' committee's recommendations include primarily: (1) A scheme of instruction to farmers; (2) voluntary inspection and certification of sires; (3) the collection of data on the economic advantages of classing and binning; and (4) research. It is stressed that from the instructional scheme anfl as a result of the elimination of scrub sires, the industry should receive tremendous benefit.
