HEADMASTER OF ETON

(British Official Wireless.) BUGBY, May 28. Mr. Claude Aureliua Elliott, 0.8. E., fellow and senior tutor of Jesus College, Cambridge, has been appointed headmaster of Eton College, in succession to Dr. Alington, who has resigned. Mr. Elliott, who is the youngest son of the late Sir Charles Elliott, X.C.5.1., Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal, was educated at Eton and Trinity College, Cambridge. He served with the Bed Cross unit in Flanders, and later did temporary work at the Admiralty. He is a member of the University Financial Board, General Board, and Council of the Senate. He has s written articles on history and mountaineering.
