• Wesley, in ■ their ' match against "Wellington, showed a distinct improvement on their'form of previous Saturdays. Jiven allowing for the adverse effect 01 the slippery ground on Wellington's combination, their opponents, reinforced by the presence o£ K. Frethcy in the forward line, made a better showing than usuul. Wellington won by 2 goals to 1, but "tissed a number of scoring chances. I heir-rust goal was scored by Ferguson, who dribbled the ball past the Wesley goalkeeper, and the second coal was registered by Itusnbridge shortly before half-time. Wesley attacked doggedly for a good, part of the second spell, and their efforts were re--warded when Rouse netted. Wellington pressed for the winning goal, and were nearly successful, a shot from Prentice, on the left wing, hitting the top ot the net and going over. Messrs. W, Keys and W. Purves controlled the game. j
