MAKURA ARRIVES.

The R.M.S. Makura, from San Francisco, via Papeete and Karotonga, arrived at Wellington In the stream at 5.35 a.m. today, and berthed at 10.4 a.m. at No.. 1 south Queen's Wharf. Fine to moderate weatlier was experienced by ■ the Makura between San Francisco and Harotonga. After leavlns Barotonga there was a ; moderate to strong easterly wind, increasing to a moderate northerly gale In the afternoon of May 23, thero being a light rain and heavy seas. On May 2G there was a light wind and a heavy confused swell, and this continued until the morning of May 28, when there was a fresh to strong easterly wind, with a. heavy southeast swell/ Continuous drizzling rain fell, and this continued until the Makura reached Wei- j lington. The weather wax thick outside tho Heads, so the ship did not arrive In the stream until 8.25 a.m., two and a half bouts after her scheduled time. 1 The Makura brought tho following saloon passengers;— landing: Mrs. K.
