It was a lovely sunny day when Bob and Betty w'ero sitting in the garden. "Mother ia so ill," said Bob. "If only I could earn a little money!" '.'lt would bo nice," said Betty. "What about the fair in Mr. Johnson's fields? They have lots of competitions—Why, Bob! We —we are at the fair!". "So we are,. Betty. Look at that notice. It says, 'Win a coconut and have a free ride on the Magic Carpet.' ■I'm going to win a cocouut and have a ride!" , "All right, Bob, you go. I'm not coming," said Betty. "Oh, Betty, look at the pattern on itl Isn't it like rea.l fruit?" "It is, rather," said Betty. "O-oh, what, is that?" "It is the fruit falling off . the Magic Carpet. Can't you see those lovely apples and pears?" Bump! They were sitting in their little garden again, but the fruit was there too, So either the dream was true, or else—there must be fairies!
