In referring at the annual meeting of the Auckland Kugby Union to the proposal that the /union should celebrate its 50th ' year this . season the president, Mr. J. Arneil, said that when the game first started there were only two grounds available. No charges could bo made until Alexandra Park was secured in 18S6, and'play continued there to 1913. In the early days there were no dressing sheds. By arrangement with tho Cricket Association, the game hnrl been played at.Eden Park since 1913. '.'All .facilities "are now provided for players," said Mr. Arrieil, "and I referred to past activities only to show how much . players of the earlier days had to do for themselves in comparison with players of tho present time.".
