• Golden Dawn, Ltd., reports to the Wellington Stock Exchange that for the 12 working days to May 20, 385 tons were treated for £763 gold, valued at £4 per oz. On No. 3 level the drive north on No. 3 reef has been driven 21ft, total 355 ft; that north on branch reef off No. 3 reef at north end of stopes'loft, total 10ft; and that south on No. 3 reef from south end of south stopes 7ft, total 31ft. The reefs average 12, 14, and'lo inches respectively. Stopiug has been carried on in two blocks on No. 1 reef, and in three blocks on No. 3 reef with machines working three shifts. The reefs average 2ft 6in and 2ft respectively, and the ore broken is of very fair value. On No. 2 level 'stopirig is being carried on in one block on No. 1 reef. The reef here averages 2ft 6in wide, and the ore broken is of fair value. Central Shotover has advised the Dunedin Stock Exchange that a call of 3d;per share, payable July 1, has been made. It is anticipated that the estimated area of not less than a quarter-acre bottom will be washed up at the end of the month. At present excavator is digging at an average of .170 yards per hour.
