OBITUARY
ADMIRAL LORD WEMYSS
(Eeceived- May 25, 1 p.m.) LONDON, May 24. The death is announced of Admiral Lord Wemyss at Cannes.
Admiral of the Fleet Lord Wester Wcmyss was born in 1864 and was the third son of Mr. J. H. Erskinc Wemyss, of Wemyss Castle. Ho entered the Kavy in 1877 and became a Lieutenant ten years later, Captain in 1901, and Rcar-Adnliral in the Second Battle Cruiser Squadron in 1912. He was a Vice-Admiral in 1916 and full Admiral in 1919. In 1916 he was Commander-in-Chief at the East Indies and Egypt, and in 1917 was First' Sea Lord. He was also a member of the War Cabinet in the last year of the w»ir. Ho published a book on "The Navy . in the Dardanelles Campaign" in 1924. There is no heir'to the title,'the one child' of his marriage'being a daughter.
