PROHIBITION REPEAL
TIDAL WAVE OF WET VOTES
NEW YORK'S MAJORITY

On a tidal wave of wet votes today New York became the sixth State to approve the repeal of the Prohibition amendment. In virtually every city of the State repeal scored a decisive, victory. New York State ratified the repeal of the Eighteenth Amendment by a twenty-to-one vote, while in New York City the- repeal majority was about fifty-to-one. These large majorities are expected to give an impetus to' the repeal movement in other States which vote on the issue in the near future.
