HUTT VALLEY LICENCES
V (To the Editor.) Sir, —Personal application seems necessary when a driver is applying for a renewal of his licence to drive a car. Most Hutt residents are in the city all day and find ■it most inconvenient to make application at the Hutt Borough Council olHcu during the day. It is true the oflicc is opened for a few evenings, but the ru>-h is su great that any applicant is lucky: 10 get away alive. It should be possible to arrange for these licences to be obtained in the city. Numbers of instances have come under my notice where people have had to give up time to make a special visit to Lower Hutt to-renew their licences, which is unnecessary as well us inconvenient and expensive. I i'eel sure this can be rectified when. the fact is made public.—l am, etc., HUTTITE.
