JUMPING AT ELLERSLIE

■ Several schooling efforts were registered at Ellerelib 'on; Tuesday % horses^ who will 'be racing--at\the .Winter Meeting. ' , ' ' • Billy-Boy (L. Dulieu) and Catoma (v. Fergus) were sent over five hurdles, giving an'excellent display. They finished on terms, Billy Boy's time being 2min 23-l-sseb and Catoma'e, who was given a start, 2min 25 l-ssee. Snow Prince (Smith) "went with them over the last four- hurdles, finishing slightly in front, his: time being lmin 24 3-ssec '" The stablemates, Wee Pat (E. Garrett) and Pattitahi (J. Burgess), gave a firstclass displayoJ jumping over four hurdles. Timed from hurdle to hurdle they took lmin 24sec. ' Zane Grey (H. Dulieu), Absent (Eennie), Kairuri (Preston), and Grant's Opal (Fergus) were schooled over the steeplechase course. Zane Grey and Kairuri were al- | ways well up, but after jumping the brush fence by the mile post the secoud time Kairuri was pulled off.. Zane Grey, Absent, : and Grant's Opal continued on, going over the hill the second time, accompanied by Snow Prince (Smith), who had previously joined them at the sod wall at the top of the ntraiglit.
