The teams were:— : New Zealand.—Zuill, Stone, Gerrard, Chapman, Christie," Crabb,: Ives, Graves, Baker, Kershaw, and Kay. ' „' : South Coast.—Richardson, P.. Ward, Thompson, Swan, Isedale, S. Ward, Shand, Murphy, ; Murray, Ward, aud Chariton. . / ■. ' ■ ■ : . South Coast kicked off, both sides press; ing hard. The South Coast side was superior in weight, which gave them an advantage in carrying the game along, but the New Zealanders had better combination, and staved oft' several attacks. Baker shot a fine goal lor the visitors. ) . In the second spell the South Coast team had the greater, advantage, and pressed hard, but were unable to break the defence, which nullified several strong attacks.
