LONDON WOOL SALES
(Received May 25, 10 a.m.) LONDON, May 21. Catalogues offered at the wool sales today amounted to 8300 bales, including 5208 bales New' Zealand. About 0933 bales were sold. All offerings mot with a good general demand, and late rates were maintained without difficulty. Realisations included: New Zealand greasy halfbrcd, •"Arden," ll?4d highest, 10% d average; halfbred lamb slipc, "Parcora," lSVinl highest, 12 o-8d average; scoured merinos, "Godlcy Peaks," I'ld highest, 17d average.
Murray, Roberts, and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market cablegram from their London agents, dated May 24: ''Sales continue with v good tout, competition keen; Home uud German buyers operating freely. Merino, market firm and shows a hardening tendency. Crossbred greasy fine advanced o per cent.; crossbred grensy coarse to medium, except inferior descriptions, advanced 5-7% per cent.; crossbred scoured five advanced 5 per cent.; crossbred scoured, other descriptions, par to 5 per cent, advance; slipo crossbred advanced 5 per cent."
