WOOL WORTH'S NEW ISSUE.
Woolworths, Ltd.,; Sydney,, is issuing new second preference shares. The Sydney Stock Exchange- reports that the present capital is £242,788; in 75,000 10 per cent, cumulative first, preference and . 167,788 ordinary shares of £1, all fully paid. 'In order to provide for further expansion of the company's operations, the directors have decided upon an issue of 300,000 7 per cent, cumulative second preference shares of £1. Of these, 15,000 have been set aside for Woolworths (N.Z.), Ltd., and the other 85,000 are offered to ordinary and^ first preference shareholders in the proportion of approximately 35 shares for every 100 shares held: on April 24 last.
