REDUCTION IN KATES
MASTERTON COUNTY
(Special to the ''Evening Post.-') MASTERTON, This Day. The general rates, decided, on' by the Masterton. County Council for the year 1933-34 show an average leduetioii over all ridings of 14 per cent., compared with last year. The- current year's rates are, with those for last.year in parentheses:- Opaki Biding, . 9-16 d (!3-8d); Rangitumau Riding, 7-16 d (9-16fl);- Upper Tnuera Riding,; 3-8 d (7-16 d); To Whiti Riding, o-8d (7-16 cl); Unti Riding, -jd (id); Wainnioni; Riding, 7-10 d (-Id). The. estimatpa total rates to bo levied arc £14j985, as com-' pared with. £16,251 last year. The.total reduction made in rates levied by the council since the first year of thp-de-pression is £11,982. Incidentally, ..this year the hospital levy shows an increase of £859 compared with last year. ' ■ :
