CHRISTCHUECH, This Day. j A sensational story was circulated yestc-rday that the l-cccnf, fires in Marshlands had been caused by a woman masquerading as a. man, and that she had confessed. The police now ■.«late that tho woman in question was admitted to tho mental hospital. Her confession proved to bo untrue.
