"PERSONAL ORGANISER"
(To the Editor.) Sir, —As a reader of your paper, I havi noticed the remarks made by Mr. Davj on the New Zealand Legion and subse quently denied: ' ■ What struck me, however, was the titli "Personal Organiser/to the Hon. J. G Coatcs." This must have made man; readers wonder- just what the meaning of personal organiser to a Minister 'is. Hoy does he function and who pays him? Hoy many Ministers indulge in this luxury? I was generally supposed that when' tin United and Reform < Party formed th< Coalition, one of the Conditions was tha the organisation of each should .be allowec to lapse'.1 Is, thu, porition ot Mr. Davy -then, - meant' to cover the fact that he i: acting as organiser for. the Reform' Party or are his utterances to be considered at thpse'.of Mr. Coates himself? ~\ , Many, of the- public nave .been anxiousli awaiting a. pronouncement from tin various' parties in regard td-'tbe Ne,w Zea land Legion'/ It hai even been suggestet that the Legion is associated either witl the Reform or the Labour Party. Pos sibly if Mr. Davy's announcement hat not been contradicted it might have giVei some' indication in this respect.—l -am etc., '. ■ ' ■ . . . , ■ - ' CURIOUS. . May 23. , - •
