NURSING PROFESSION
INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Miss E. Young, of Dunedin, leaves by the Eangitata for London tomorrow to attend the international conference of nurses to be held in Paris early in July. The delegates from New Zealand aid Misses J. C. Cooper, L. Brandon, E. J. Lewis (matron, Blenheim Hospital), M. Mackie (matron, Oamaru Hospital), anil Miss Young. In addition to the above, a number of other New Zealand nurses will avail themselves of the opportunity of attending the conference, at which there,will be representatives from twentythree different countries.' It is expected that there will be an attendance of over 2000 nurses. The president of the conference will be Miss Chaptal, of Trance. The programme of the meeting is a most comprehensive one, including the discussion of numerous questions of importance to the nursing profession. Miss Young (New Zealand) will preside over the section appointed to deal with compulsory state registration of nurses, a department in which the Dominion hag in the past taken a leading pait.
