INDIAN LOAN OVERSUBSCRIBED.
(Received May 11, 10.35/ a.m.) LONDON, May 10. The India loan is oversubscribed.
The loan above referred to was for £12,000,000 bearing interest at 4 per cent, and maturing 1948-53. The issue price was £97 10s. The proceeds are to be used as capital railway expenditure, also to redeem an outstanding balance of a £7,000,000 loan at 6 per cent., 1933-45.
