Sewell, of Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Federated Malay States, on leave from the Imperial Civil f?e;~ vice, was present at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union today, and was accorded a warm welcome by delegates. He is. a past president of the Bugby controlling body in the Malay States. ■ Tho Wellington Presbytery at its meeting on Tuesday afternoon approved a call to the.charge of Knox Church, Lower Hutt, addressed to the Bey. J. Thomson Maeky, at present minister at Danncvirke. Tho call was strongly supported. .Mr.' Maeky began- his ministerial training1 in 1911, studying at Auckland University College and at the Presbyterian Theological Hall, Dunedin. Ho left-on war service in. June, 1916,: and returned to New Zealand at the end of 1919. In 1920 he was ordained and placed in charge of the congregation of Lansdowne, Masterton, and was later translated to his present charge of Dannevirke in 1922. During hia term at Dannevirke, Mr. Macky's work has prospered in many ways, and he has been especially, popular among young people, while it' was under his energetic leadership as minister that a ■ now and handsome brick church was erected.
