RUGBY UNION ABOLISHED
The Manawatu-Horowhenua Rugby Union is to be abolished in accordance with a unanimous decision reached at the New.Zealand Rugby Union's annual meeting today, and the original two separate unions 'reconstituted. The decision was reached at tho request of the unions concernod, the principal reasons given being the cost of assembling teams over a wide and scattered area and the poor attendances at representative matches which had to bo .played at! Palmerston North to secure a good "gate."
