DANCE AT DAY'S BAY

CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS

Tho Day's Bay Pavilion was the scene of a very bright and happy party given by Mr. and Mrs. Eggie on Saturday evening to the committee and all who had helped and supported their daughter, Miss Jean Egpie, in the recent Queen Carnival. The' stage was arranged with bridge tables for non-dancers, and was artistically and comfortably furnished. At intervals during the dancing delightful items-were given by Miss Gamble, Miss Stark, and Mr. Swift. Mr. Eggie said the, committee and helpers from so small an area had every reason to be proud of their efforts in helping the unemployed and distressed on the eastern side of the harbour, having handed in to the Central Committee £108. Among '.hose present were the four "Queens"—Miss Gillespie ("Britannia"), Miss Greig ("Traffic"), Miss Mather , ("Sports"), and Miss Eggie ("Miss Day's Bay"); also Mr. and Mrs. J Vance, Mr. and Mrs. R. Wilberfoss, Mrs. and Miss Chapman, Mr. O. Benge, Mr. B. Neit, Mr. and Mrs. F. Martin, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. D. HoggaTd, Mr. and Mrs. F. Oakley, Mr. and Mrs. T. Mayer, Mr. and Mrs. A. Grant, Mr. and Mrs. Broad, Mr. and Mrs. E. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Slade, Mr. and Mrs. S. Kelly> Mrs. Bruce, Miss Wright. Miss Weightpn, Mr. Heybenton, Misses Clapham, Messrs. Clapham and Gamble, and many others. About 130 were present, and ft delightful evening terminated with a daintily-served supper.
