SPANISH CLUB
The ninth annual meeting of the Wollington, Spanish Club was held last week. Mr. W- T. Goodwin presided. , The election of officers icsultcd as follows: —Patron, Mr. ■E. Baldwin, ViceConsul for the Argentine; piesident, Mr. W. T, Goodwin; lion, secretary, Mr. R. J. Atkinson; lion, treasurer, Mrs. Goodwin; lion, auditor, Mr. H. E. Napier: committee of management, Mesdames Harvey and Ryan, Messrs. Sansun and Dunford, and officers ex officio. Greetings from the Auckland Spanish Club were read. Mr. Goodwin briefly outlined the scope and activities of the club to new members, and it was resolved to hold weekly meetings for the study of the Castilian tongue, for which purpose a reading circle will1 be formed. The committee is also to draw up a programme for the session, in which it is hoped to include, a special class for beginners, to enable them to join the reading and conversational circles. It was also suggested to arrange for lecturettes to be given on South American business and geographical topics by members and overseas visitors to the city.
