HOTEL DESTROYED
EARLY MORNING FIRE
! (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, This Day. , The Makotuku Hotel, a wooden twostoreyed building, erected about fifty ' years ago, was totally destroyed by fire lat 1 o'clock this morning. The licensee (Mr. W. M. Senk), his. wife, and his ■ sister-in-law, escaped in their night | a+tire. Nothing was saved. The building was owned by Mr. D. ! Baker, of Palmerston North. The in--1 surances are not available. The fire apparently started in the i dining-room. A gale was blowing at | the time.
