CHILD RESCUED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WANGANUI, May 5. Diving fully clothed into the Wnnganui Biver, which was in high flood today, Mr. R. Luff rescued a child named West from drowning. The child was playing on a pontoon when he fell into the river. Mr. Luff saw tho child being swept away in the raging torrent, and brought him ashore after he had gone under once.
