WEDDING

HOWE—HUFFAM.

The marriage took place recently at Wesley Church, Taranaki Street, of May, younger daughter of Mrs. S. and tho" late Mr. K. Huffam, Oriental Parade, to Ernest Leslie, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Howe, Bidwell Street. The officiating minister was the Bey. T. B. Biehards, and Mr. Clement Howe (brother of the bridegroom) presided at the organ. The church waa tastefully decorated for tUo occasion. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, Mr. E. N. K. Huft'am, wore a charming gown of pale pink satin riche cut on graceful lines and moulded to the figure, the train falling from the shoulders. The V-necked bodice was trimmed with plaiting, and finished with a bow at the back, the sleeves puffed to the elbows being tight and pointed over tho hands and trimmed with plaiting also. Her pink tulle veil, which was worn off tho face, was held in place by a coronet of piuk orange blossom, and. she carried a sheaf of cream gladioli and roses. She was attended by Misses Dorothy Ne-wniaii and Joyce Billing, who were dressed alike in full-length frocks of sapphire blue chiffon velvet cut on Princess lines, having slim-fitting sleovcs with shoulder-puffs, and the rounded neck falling into a "V at the back, a bow of the same material defining the waistline. Tho ensembles were completed with toques of the same velvet trimmed with plaiting and finished with bows at tho side. They carried sheafs of apricot-tinted gladioli, carnations, and maidenhair fern. The best man was the Bey. D. C. Alley (Greenmeadows, Napier), and Mr. J. A. Thompson was groomsman. During the signing of tlie register Miss Joy Sutherland sang. A -reception was held at "The Eitz, " where numerous guests wero received by tho mothers of the bride and bridegroom. Mrs. Huffam woro a smart block satin frock relieved with white, and black diagonal face-cloth coat and hut to match. She carried a posy of autumn tints. Mrs. Howe woro a frock of jersey silk coloured navy and silver, with navy ci-epe de chine coat and hat to match. She also carried a posy of autumn-tinted flowers. Over the bridal couple was suspended a flora) bell of pink and bluo shaded hydrangeas. Items woro given by Mrs. M. P. Clarke and Miss Dorothy Newman (chief bridesmaid). In tho evening many young friends of tho bride and bridegroom gathered in Wesley Hall for a social evening. Items wero given by the "Choral Eight." Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Howe left by car for the north, the bride wearing a nigger frock with coat and felt hat to match.
