SOCIETY OF DORSET MEN

The twenty-first annual meeting of the New Zealand Society ol: Dorset Men. was held this week. Mr. C. H. Dement presided, and m his opening, remarks referred to the deaths during the year of the following old members:—Mr. B. Buddcn (Waitara), Mr. -H. Major (Waipukurau), and Mrs. L A. Maskew, wife of one of the oldest vi'ce-jJteidents. '"&vottt of .sympathy wus passed. ■■ A cable was read from the London secretary wishing tbe society best wishes on Dorset Day. The report and balance-sheet was adopted, the president congratulating the society on the satisfactory state of its finances. ■ ■ Officers were elected as follows:—President, Mr.' S. P. Andrew; vice-presidents, all re-elected; hon. secretary, Mr. H. J. Poole; hon. treasurer, Mr. H. D. Poole; hon. auditor, Mr. C. CE, Chitty. The retiring committed was re-appointed, under the chairmanship of Mr; C. H, Dement.
