NO WOMEN SELECTORS
The international match committee of the Lawn Tennis Association has decided !to dispense with the women advisers of its selection committee for choosing the Wishtinan Cup and' other' British, international teams, says the "Daily Mail. I This means.that in future women players will be entirely selected by men. The threat to abolish women advisers was exclusively announced last year, and, subject to confirmation by the full council meeting, that threat has become an accomplished fact.. For some years the women's advisory committee worked hard in arranging practices. But there was so much discontent with the choice of the WHitman Cup team last year that some of the L.T.A. councillors thought it wise to revert to men selectors only. The selection committee decided by three votes to two after what was a very heated discussion, to recommend the abolition of the women's advisory committee. The international match committee, with much less discussion,, upheld that decision.
