DISORDERLY SEAMAN CONVICTED

1 the Aralmra, was charged with behaving in a disorderly manner while drunk and using insulting words when tho Arahura was about to sail last evening. The accused pleaded guilty to the first charge, and not guilty to tho second Counsel said tho whole trouble was caused through the accused taking too much drink. The police looked upon the matter as serious, in view of tho existing circumstances. The accused was fined £3 on the first charge, and ordered to enter into a recognisance to keep the peace for six months, giving a bond of £10 and a surety for £10, and was also ordered to find a surety for £10 for his good b«< haviour, in default six months' impriv onment. The default penalty for thus fine was fixed at one month. The seeontf information was dismissed.
